Herb. Mrs. Paris Cremolobus pinnatifilum - Wilkes Expd. 1838-42 Peru. C. suffruticoso - Chili, Donbey 619 (Type) There are three sheets all seemingly of the Donbey collection. The on one sheet appear the notation Chili & et Peru but they spec. lieve to be from one or the other. My guess is Chili because that appears on the specimen that De Candolle actually annotated. The lower portion of the specimens show a semi- woody quality - rather soft + pumky as if from under-ground or something. At any rate, I doubt if the plant was a tall woody shrub. The leaves and all suggest a maritime situation. longest stem = 4 dm. glabrous; leaves probably fleshy, thickish but not markedly so, glabrous, dark green to blackish, petiolate, dentate, 2-4 cm. long, 1-2 cm. wide; raceme 1-2.5 dm. long. crowded; slender pedicels divaricate, nearly straight, 1.5-2 cm. long; silique very erect, stipitate, indus. fruit ca. 4 mm. in diam., glabrous. wing ca. 1 mm. wide, crenate dentate; style 3-4 mm. long.
