March 13 Hunted on campus 1½ hrs (6:25-7:55 A.M.) Searched near Ag. Hall & Center St. gate but no Eng. Sp. Found flock of 4 near Hammond Gym. and rest of them near South Bacon Halls. Only succeeded in wounding 1. Found 1st nest on campus, in metal scroll work over Saller gate. Have a suspicion that 297 and 18 are occupying the nest. Could have killed the three easily but let them remain for future observation. Census Eng. Sp. 16 Others 61. March 14 Hunted on campus 1¾ hrs (6:10-7:55 A.M.) Killed 4 Eng. Sp. 3 99 and 18. Took the 8 bird. Also wounded one. Saw more sparrows than usual but to do so covered more ground this morning. Hunted down between the Athletic Fields to Bancroft Way- Near Girls Gym. etc. as well as usual places. Census Eng. Sp. 25 Others 89
