5 November 64 Photographic proceedings did not commence until 1200 hours due to the fact that word had been previously given that the decks would be washed in the A.M. It never occurred! Rough seas necessitated constant guard of the equipment to insure its upright position and close birds were nearly non-existent. A total of 35 feet were shot on a tropicbird. Cloud cover was very heavy accounting for constant changes in light conditions. The course change at J.I. presented the problems of heavy wind, salt spray and heavy rolls. The equipment was secured shortly after the turn and it is felt that the shoulder harness will have to be used while on this course if the weather continues as is. By using the harness the equipment can be covered while not in actual use yet need not be in constant attendance. The 48 FPS may be fast enough to slow the movements of hand-holding (Over)
