Ely, Charles A. 1964 6 the west beach. As we reached the north end the bird raised into the air and flew (or was carried) back along the beach to near the area where it was first seen. Yesterday afternoon and last night were very cloudy with heavy rain most of the night. Today was clear to partly cloudy, warm and with a strong north wind. Today's trip to Eastern was just a get-acquainted survey. After returning from Eastern walked around part of Sand Island, watched white-capped noddies and other species and just piddled.
