81 Lyons Neck (1) 5.45.1 Out the east side of Lyons Neck A m N. 5. 45.1 about 40 yards worth of the brook outcrops 3 feet of gray rhyolite tuff overlain in area 40 ft. broad at the base of which are exposed 6 or > feet of blue shale. V 10.35. Total shale probably 21/2 ft. thick. Fossils in seams in the shale include Dalmanella abund Stenoscisma pichra comm. Orbiculoidea occasional monotrypa "/" 5.45.1 a The shales are overlain to the north by an exposure of some 17 ft. of rhyolite tuffs (massive) and Ellen outcrops a ledge of 6 ft. of blue shale forming the shore line A 3.35 This shale contains the same ware Dalmanella abund Stenoscisma occ. Orbiculoidea "/" monotrypa "/" Actinopterella rare 5.45.1 B. The northerly strike brings (A) to the shore again and just north of the S. boundary of 5. 35. 7 the strike N20 V 20.350 brings both A B and the tuffs into outcrop once more. In 5.35.7 the south of the joint is a strip about 100 yards wide in which of which outcrop some 35 or 40 ft. of shales of 5.45.1. B. Out the point there out- crops a trap intrusion bounded 5.35.7
