At 8 P.M., Devent to China Town with a Police Sargent, Kelley + with Knuth + Jausseen, + Myers Ellurian + Parley a S.T. business house. Chinatown was vastly different from a town in China for its streets were wide, clean + the underground rooms were deserted, no Opium Shopters or Fan tan players being extant. The sargent showed us many secret doors closets etc. He introduced us to Rosay a Chinese girl of 18 who sang the latest American songs & Fan Chuiers over but she Yorkulittle Chinese & She had never seen China. She was a good fellow + as free + happy with us as could be,
