7 This morning I
visited Rawley at the
Oakland Public
Museum at Oakland.
The place is in an old
wooden building in a
park on the shore of Lake
Merritt. I found Rawley
in the attic with an Examiner
reporter + Mr. Hubbard an
Oakland Sportsman +
part of father to the institution.
He is a relative of Mrs. Bell's
whom was at Hubbard. The
Museum has large exhibits
but is an old house with
small rooms + not
suitable for a display
place. They have
a new building planned
in the park. The funds
are provided by the city.
Public lectures in schools
are given by a woman whom
I met & cases of birds are
used in this connection.
