side for military purposes, here I saw one wide boy about 10 yrs old, Alto the wealth is chilly now, Several good sized Chow dogs were slatting about. We ascended to the top of the wall + walked along its top, This made of huge gray bricks & the top's 30 feet wide & lined by a rank growth of pines & Thorny Jiphonius bushes. At the commences of the wall are good pagoda Gates built in several stones. The wall itself is immense, being 50 feet high, 40 feet wide + having a four foot wall of masonry with outer surface notched for guns or rifle fire. From the southern Wall we could see over the Native City & down to the R.R. which borders the southern edge of the wall. Soldiers of all nations are seen doing grand duty in the Legion
