Peking is an exceptionally lean Chinese city free from Offensive odors as far as the Tartar city, & the enclosing cities, that Imperial & Forbidden. The Chinese city is said to be Sincely but we mist there was no more annoying. + There was no evidence of filth such as to seen in Amoy, Fuchuan or Canton.
