Kearsarge Sierra Trip
Aug 11. Our party for the
Trip - Wm Magee, Karl Riley
and Harold Merriman
left Los Angeles by S.P.
Train.
At noon we passed
the Mint Canon and
down to Mojave.
Since the Beavers Valley
train leaves at 4 A.M.
we had some time
on our hands. The
afternoon was spent
promenading the
unique Mojave City
Dumps.
The desert here is
covered chiefly with
one of the "Aftersfly"
and Cacorita Bush.
Incidentally about
the only birds seen
were Palestine Kingbird
