Searles Lake and the Trona Railway we dropped into Owens Valley near Jumkern. Owens Lake was about the same as last year but Little Lake seemed full as fivefords and harbored many Mudhens and some good sized flocks of migratory ducks. Owens Valley farther up is drier than ever - there is no visible snow upon any of the mountains. After a change to other narrow gauge line we som arrived at Slipy little Indulgence.
