the country is fine. We camped with Ted as rain threatened. Up in Knichot pass we had a short hail storm. Aug 26 Set. Spent some time around camp and later went over to the edge of the Bench. The river valley below looked most interesting. We met an old man Mr. Mc Dougall by name who is staying at the lake this summer. He is very interesting and knows the country well but says the lake is shy on birds. About the edge of the lake we saw several deer tracks
