Saturday August 11. went both me to the Depot and Mortlwoke. I call on Charles Lemonner who is about 92 years old. He is rather hard of hearing and somewhat feeble, but his mind was clear. He recalls that gyears ago his own S.D. had ridden around the square, and that I had later done the same for a record. He did not know who had made the best time. He told me about Two families settling near Connor Pond 107 years ago and built a log house. They came from near Wakefield. Thomas Blake and Sam Abbott (Almoni Abbott's Grandfather) built a camp and cut and hauled logs one winter to Cole & Peasley Connor's House at the Uniters (Stephen Jackson worked a mill (B P Connor worked a mill) Among his brothers were W.B. John, Jeremiah Later James L. Bodge had a mill at its head of Danhole Pond fired at the old Hanson Place near Roland Park
