the drive to the Quinn Run valley. Stopped and had Dinner near this neck Station Kept by D.B English about 18 miles from our morning Camp. The Country Bream The same. After dinner we went along about 9 miles to Buffalo Cr! in the 2 part of Quinn R. Valley Monday May 31. . To near McDermitt We left camp early and drove Northward. Passed Rebel Creek P.O. & Store station about 9:00 and stopped for dinner at Millers Creek about 11. about 11 or 12 miles from Buffalo Cr. After dinner we went on until about sunset making about 15 miles and camped at a creek on a sagebrush flat within a few miles of McDermitt Saw a "bush rabbit (Bunolagus)" in the afternoon Tuesday June 1. To McDermitt We got away from camp in Good time and got to McDermitt about the middle of the afternoon Got a few things at the store stopped at the P.O. and then went to N.T.V. Town to find a place to camp. As all the land in the valley is taken up - in ranches this was not an easy matter. We finally located at an abandoned ranch about 3 miles, N.W. of town The Nevada-Oregon line runs through the middle of the town. Nearly due west is Disaster Peak. To the S.E. in Nevada is the Buckskin range where the newly discovered National mine is being worked The valley is covered with the usual sagebrush and grease- wood with Shepherdia along the ditches and in low spots
