Thursday July 29 Tork up all our Traps and left quite early for Skull springs. Took a road down the North side of the mountain. Had luck at a dry flat. Saw a gray ground squirrel on its south end of the hill at about 4500 feet. Two antelopes were seen from Canyon just before our left and another one a short time afterward. Saw a brush rabbit about 4500 feet Friday July 30. Skull Springs For some Eutamias. I think two species & some pocket gophers. Set out some traps for Perognatha wandering b stop until the morning from myotis in the evening. This is the scene of a defeat of a large band of Indeans whom John McLaughlin says about 35 years ago but this probably longer ago.
