Tuesday June 20 Owyhee River
For Prognathia Pterolophia
and finished up some
accumulated work. Shot a
Coyote from the camp a
Chuck [illegible] mud is [illegible]
spanning on the shallows
The valley is crissed with
patches of sagebrush and
pleasant. The Cotton predominates
in the alluvial areas, which
are numerous and extensive.
A little alfalfa is raised
in the valley but hay seems
the the powerful crop
Monday June 21.
My traps received a few
specimens but it is difficult
to get much, though I have
a long line of traps out.
Some brush rabbits (Borophagus)
among the sagebrush in the
low hills. They seem to keep
up on the hills in preference
to the valley
