Friday August 29 To Palisade Trail 4500 feet Jordan hunted up a trail which he thought wound into no acres, a pass to the Mounted Palisade Trail. We left a good time and followed a blazed trail through the Balcony woods. Had dinner near the David fort far below but climbed then went on and soon reached the summit passing through a series of beautiful alpine meadows. Summit 10,00 feet from altitude came in some Milan Plumpigan and shot a pair. This man quits a lot but they soon very week Jordan tells me that this bird (Milan Plumpigan) as on the Balcony Mts and in the Mts about Jocladak. Luke says that once he found the eggs of this bird on the flat near Sheep Creek where the Jocladak Trail crosses. It is common also on Silver Creek in the Ommner Monday Sept 1 Sett P. Connelly for awhile space about 4,000 feet above all about and a bit of the Mts. It went off shortly during the day. I took Zebra to mountains along Papua. Practically no birds about. Tuesday Sept 2 Sate Post Compulsely Cold and rainy and little being observed a few birds but could not accomplish much. We are trying to arrange to get a man to take up to a certain mountain on the Sentat others sheep and ward [illegible]
