A grove of Acer negundo in the yard of the dwelling house were doubtless disturbed Monday Oct 17. To Below Brule River Stopped and took some pictures about the post and then floated on down. Breakfasting on the raft. The day was cloudy but not cold, and without rain; the current fair. We passed the Brule river about 238 and camped at dark on the left bank. A few miles below Durnvegan we saw a new house and many fresh signs of bearers the bank being worn by many traces along which were freshly cut branches.
