Alberta Friday Oct 14 To New Monument Rock Left camp early and floated Down. The wind pory came up very strong from the west, and finally about noon we had to stop on account of d. We got away again at 3 o'clock and camped at six on the left bank. We passed long stretches of granite cliffs Windy on the left where there were many nests of cliff Swallows. Saw also many nesting places of Bank Swallow. Saturday Oct. 15 To below R. Montagnais The morning was rainy but we started off, driving the forenoon it rained. Most of the time cool the afternoon was fairly pleasant The current was slack and we did not make very good time. We passed The Monument Rocks in the middle of the forenoon--and the Clearwater soon after. In the afternoon forward the R des Montagnais on the left. We camped at dusk on the right bank among some large bunches
