Grace B 1893 Explored a portion of the country west of New Paris towards the mountains & cactus mostly of Kells which are covered with quite a heavy growth of oats and maples for the most part. Also went about 3 miles up the creek Then I found quite a heavily provided "bottom" A ravine was St which there were many knuckles but no birds of note were seen there. The following list of birds were seen during the day New Paris Jan 3 '93 Baltimore Oriole. A male seen about the house. Ch infing sparrow. C. House w.in a pair near the house Barn swallow Common Chirpney swift Very common Song sparrow many seen Field sparrow. A few noted Brown thrush Seen Red eyed Vireo Very common V Crow Cr. Acid's bird Screwl seen Red headed wapker. Sun wherever there are
