Plusia morioctor 8.2- Eggs laid on Blazing Star (Liatris) hatched Aug. Round on one flower after 3rd stage - 1 Aug. First stage. Elongate, light-green with conspicuous black set. tub. bearing such a single slightly cumbred blackish hair - The tubs are 2 S.D. The upper antennae. One sup. stig. conid. sup and slightly ant. Each stig. spiracle. One stigmal post. each spir. One sub. stig. conid. below each sp. another port this and slightly inf. tilt. A small ant. at base of each leg - on median ventral and 3 in position of legs No. 567 (ca.4) On 3 ant and last by this ant. is somewhat modified. Head Green, 2. a few minute hairs. Second stage. As before. Nares and tubercles no longer a single S.D., and sup. stig. white line - less slender Aug.28- Fourth stage. As in 3 but with the two dorsal lines clearly defined running ant. to inner S. do. faintly marked bygotten on u.s. 2. Other lines having more clearly defined very fine outlines. The two dorsals and inner S. do sometimes joined by fine lines. A few white marks and traces of a line between outer S.Ds. and last lines. Tubercles all white tinged head Kind J. Brown. 12am.
