Rared at 98° abt. for days. Larva B. Acronycta Near mortivaga larvæ. Jun 19. Six eggs. 4 hatched 27-8 (Period) f. hatch, eggs. 26-7 days Larva w/mend i watch box in water Pobt's last stage. 1st stage. Segmenti: [illegible] colored dorsally a dirty shining middish brown. Seg 2 more yellowish lighter. A double dorsal row of large, several hand tubercles there on 2569 dirty brown bounded with dull white patches on either side. The corny, flat. Nucle smaller on 10 large on 11 and stiff haired. Lateral and ventral region, dirty white. The sub dorsal region & the acroloid segments dirty yellow brown. Head dirty dull reddish. Dorsal arm blackish procurred d.d., rounded, short lateral style short, nearly straight (stigmata black hypo wings). Hairs under high, down flecked w. whitish. Anal seg- dirty whitish with darker tubercles. L. 2.5. mm. Bummore type. 2nd stage - July 1. The red brown stain duller and more extended laterally on all the segments. The light portions less marked and surrounded or by the red, less on dorsal 10. The whitish portion dirty speckled, less will marked. Head less much as before, the hairs shorter and stiffer in proportion. L. 5mm. 3rd stage July 4. Color more suffused darker. No dorsal light-patch on 10 [illegible] defined. An ill-defined lateral light stripe.
