September Transfusion Larva on Hammandis virginica . jun 15-? at Malapen Mass. Color pale gamboge yellow running into more or less livid white between the Segments. The first, and last two segments entirely livid white. Legs & protop livid. Stigmata white, black ringed elliptical - A few very minute pristly hairs arising from faintly indicated (dotted) points. Head shining very slightly tinged and mottled with light brown - A singular looking saw fly like Larva resting with the head bent down sides as in Sybline to which it is probably allied and curling up when landed 30 mm. Only slightly lay-out. Cocoon at Sugar J'early June 24.
