3rd march - July 16. The dark portions predominate having a lateral sub d. and slender dorsal bands. The two former including on each eye post 3 a black tubercle - The tubercles bear very short black hairs among shorter 2 more numerous whitish ones and form with the irregular reddish black mottling in which connects them comprising a remarkably well defined dorsal and s.d. band and yellowish with a post. superior black circular or crescent shaped spot marks. Variate quinque yellow - a few s.d. laterally - 2or3 yellow posterior tangs in post portion of s.d. & ground line - 45 July 20 Varies from a form wholly blackish with linear whitish mottlings, a whitish lateral and dorsal traceable sub d. line with black head obviously mottled Form in which quinque white predominates. The lateral ad s.d. bands being very distinct - with a few black points. Remarks: There is a fairly well marked dorsal streak contained in the broad mottled black and yellowish dorsal band. A band similar to this separates the s.d. & lateral lines; head straw color & a few black points. Both forms densely clothed with stiff whitish bristle hairs each tubercle
