Powdering of dark dots on inferiorly and near the dorsal line. 40 mm more or less varying much in size. Rests beneath underside of leaf. Turns dull pinkish purple before making a thin cocoon near the surface of the ground in which it hibernates till the middle of June. Damage appearing in July.
