6. Calocampa impera Eggs Laid in patches on Strawberry etc. Flattened Hatched May 7. Young Larva 125 days. Light-purplish blackish posteriorly. Body sparsely covered with blackish or dark-brown setigerous tubercles. Head light brown. Beneath greenish. Setae moderately long curved black. Feet black. Prolegs greenish. After eating, bluish green Black Tub. very distinct. Second Stage. May 17. Dark green above light green tinged w. yellow below. Dorsal o.d. and broad lateral whitish stripes. Black dots as before but distinct. Head lighter than numerous black dots. Very slender 10 mm. Third Stage May 26. (6½ gm.) d. 2s.d. 2nd last creamy white. Above tinged w. blackish. Head thickly mottled w. brown. Lips w. a dirty spot. Patches. Setae before, 15 mm. Black dots very indistinct but broadly winged w. British 4th Stage June 1
