antennae twice as long as the proboscis - (3) and a stipulated row, the spots being round and including the stipulate. Anal plate and proctal plate of egg. 1. Black Vn latter terminating internally and anteriorly in two black dots. A black dot at the base of lip (except last pair) and two at base of protops. A large black rectangular patch on head. An indistinct fine whitish stipulated line. Matured and changed its color July 3rd spinning a blackish cocoon in mors July 5. This pretty larva very distinctly marked and its conspicuousness may account for some colour for the variety of the imagos which appears in May and June - Marasmasus vistrius (L.)
