Reared in a warm room - Copipanolis viridulus Eggs laid Apr 16 sq. Hatched Apr. 17. Pinkish or flesh colored becoming darker .95mm in long. Dim subhemispherical coarsely ridged, with fine brown reticulation. Ridges sublateral from 20-22 at periphery. The main ones originate undefined near the apex and ascend arising either as branches from them or independently from them. Fed on buds of lucerne eating out the centre and making a little core. 1st Stage Sept 1 Wholly dirty yellowish santin with a tiny fuddigh. Head shiny black subcalt, large pointed plate black also small median sup., and plate blacks. Legs of round number (6 pairs) W. protop black. Larva looks like a small Tortrix and has some habit of backing in a low dryer associated with stiffer habit. 2nd Stage (moultd Apr. 21 one) Abdomen before madder dusted w. greyish. Stripe black tipped w. dirty yellowish, head black. 3rd Stage April 25. - , 1 height Dull reddish irregularly mottled with whitish or grey spots and blotch Head shiny light brown. Polyp black, a stipulated line faintly indicated. 4th Stage 1st April 28
