114 Sab. Oct. 16 My state-room was so hot that I went up on deck and slept as much as possible with my corn mouth. Woke up early and had tea and my bath and breakfast at 8.30. I spent most of the forenoon in watching the blemons with their plants in press; helped Mrs. blemens with some of the ferns. We got into Sandaker C.M.S. between 12 and 1 and came up to the wharf. Dr. Osme and another gentleman called on us. After tiffin my mouth became so painful that I walked up to Dr. Osme's house; had tea with him and the warm tea caused the ulcers in my mouth to break giving me great relief. Later we went out for a walk and saw many interesting plants and I collected two Lygodiums; came home with Dr. Osme for dinner; Mr. Led a little chat on botanical things and then he came down to the boat with me. The Dr. is a most interesting and charming man.
