104 Wed, Oct. 6 I had in a most fitful night with the wind, rain and light seas. Had practically no sleep at all and welcomed daylight and also a sight of the island of Mindanao and of Davao a little later. Had my tea and toast early and breakfast and then packed up and we landed at about 8. It is still quite raining. I took a rickshaw up to the Palace or Plaza Hotel and engaged room, Met Father McButcher on the street; dropped in to Salee's drug store, with Paul Fairs and Mr. Lecoley at dinner. Mrs. Morris took McButcher and me down to the hospital in the P.M. Visited around with numerous people and loafed and wrote up my diaries. Davao is a most attractive looking place. After dinner a Mr. Shewter, a Pub, Wood's man took me to the club and we had some drinks and then I got to bed at about 10.30
