100 Sab. Oct. 2. My Trip to Borneo. After a most strenuous forenoon's work in the office I endeavored to take a "park tiffin rista" but at 2.30 my telephone sounded me and I was informed that the S.S. "Dumalier" would sail at 3. I need rush to dress and get to the boat only to learn that the time set for sailing was 4 and we finally set steam at about 3' in a down- pour. Almost every place on deck was washing but we soon cleared out of the line of rain and passed by Loerrigider with a fine sunset over Mt. Marivalles. Struggled with luggage in my state- room which I think will be its only use I shall finish it too. Had our dinner at noon, Spanish style with its "vino tinto" of which I am very fond; even after I work to bed on deck on a Filipino cut several sizes two short with all the bed clothes did several sizes too short but the strenuous days work has tired me so, that stretching out on a bare board would be welcome.
