Sat, Dec 11 I was awakes early took the marine gun, nearly scared the life out of me, I war up fairly early and had a rotten break- fast. I opened up a couple of bundles of specimens and found them all O.T. Then I started down to the club and met Major Chapman and spent the rest of the afternoon in shaking dice for the drinks and listening to stories. Came home at about six and had some tiffin and then took a long siesta; had a bath but I doubt whether any cleanliness was gained. I loafed around until time for dinner which was some later. After dinner I sat out as the maraudah and at about 9 I strolled down to the wharf and over to the club where a loaf was on. Met the former (Rother) and a lot more officers; more dice and some drinks. Got to bed about 11.
