162 Thurs. Dec. 3 Was rather restless and was up in the night; it was cold enough for a blanket some of the time. Was up at 6 and enjoyed the luxury of tea & toast in my room. After breakfast I took some plants out of press and also took out those I had in my trunk which smell very sweetly, Had good news and made much progress and after tiffin I put the bark of them in press, thank heaven. Some of them are rather badly damaged. I walked up to the Mission School to see the teacher about developing some pictures for the Chaplain; found him an insufferable frig tub just the work to suit the Clemens collected a couple of beans and then did some shopping. Had some crackers and milk in the evening, a luxury I could not have in the mountains. After tea I undressed and loved. Put on my clothes for dinner and wrote to Roberts and began my letter to the Chaplain
