146 Tues. Nov. 16 I had a good sleep last night the first for some time. The swelling has not all gone out of hands & feet. I was up early and buried myself about camp all the forenoon in trying to dry clothes, papers, drinks, going through my papers and sorting out my collection of yesterday. After tiffin, with which we had an arm plant cooked as greens which the loofitans had been gathering, I began putting my plants in press. It was a most enjoyable occupation to go over the things and more; finished up at about four and had a cup of hot water. Then changed the drinks on my big press of Thise Balm plants. It began raining before noon and it poured most of the P.M. The rainiest day we have had. Bonfield cooked us some corn-mush mush for supper which we ate with milk and molasses and enjoyed very much.
