Mon. Feb. 8 I was awak with the day again and up early. No collecting to-day but I hear had great longings to go up on the Mountain Spur where we were yesterday. It was a beautiful bright sunny morning and I improved it by putting my drives out and changing them twice which kept me very busy all the forenoon. In the afternoon I sorted out some clothes which I did not wish to take on the mountain and changed my shirts and more; In the morning Lumpok and Lamah and a "holy man" made the arrangements for our going to the top; I paid $1.75. Borne money for chickens and eggs for the spirits. Lumpok is nothing but late in the afternoon came to the house for the first time in 3 days. For dinner we had "Iladi" stalks cooked as greens, only fair. Tried to bloom stems on my ferns but it buckled them flat at my door and waited the night came on again
