132 Wed. Apr. 3 I was awake quite early and up before six. Looked after the breakfast, changed some drains and at about 10.30 I took two small Durans with me and climbed up the ridge back of the next house and dropped down into the same valley where I went Monday but I went down the stream instead. I found quite a few ferns to collect, some of them new and others familiar. Climbed straight up out of the gully and came to the edge of a rice field where I sat down and ate my lunch, then climbed up on to the ridge again and followed it out to the end, on the top I collected my first bamboos. Reached home in time for a late lunch, then came putting plants in press, changing drains, supper, a smoke and then the writing of my journal and then to bed
