I was up at six and went
to the river for my bath; We
had our first rice and bacon
for breakfast. I started out for
Narring at about 7 leaving the
Chaplain & Mrs. Blemens putting
up plants. Bonfield walked with
me, and carried my press; I
saw many interesting things
but collected almost nothing
but ferns. I lunched along the
way on my can of rice and
bacon and did not see
the blemens during the day, Bonfield
and I got into Narring at about
one and cleaned up the rest house
and when the coulins came I
found up the town, I packed my
things, put my plants in press,
wrote up my journal and a note
to Bratterbery and had my dinner
at 7. The blemens got back out
in the dark and the men went out
with lights for them; they got in
at 8.15. I had any smoke after
dinner and went to bed at
about 9.
