Mom, Oct 25 Had heavy rains during the night; was up early and went to the engine for my presses and found the whole thing a mass of cinders; a most distressing experience; later I went out and down under I managed to dig out a few things which Mrs. Coleman and I put in new presses. The Chaplain and I called on the Resident to make a few inquiries and then we did a little shopping. In the afternoon we began our preliminary packing and tying things up preparatory to the trail. I had to try paper to replace my drums. It has been shoveling work of the afternoon. Had a little chat with a fellow who has just come in from Kota Belud. In the morning I finished my letter to Ling Dora and Fan and then turned into bed at about 10.30. I begin to feel now as if I should get to King Bali
