207.- Populus tremuloides. - Sheet 339. - Spec 1-4. - Wright's Canon, W. Humboldt Mts. - Aug. 21st 1863. - Very common on banks of streams in canons of the E. W. Humboldt ranges. Usually 5'-12' high. Seen 20' high + nearly 12' in diameter. Granite Peak. To an elevation of 7,000 ft.- "Single". 208.- Populus (a) - Sheet 340. - Spec 1-3. - W. Humboldt Mts. Elev. 15°-20°. "So.-S." (a') - Sheet 341. - Leaves only. - Truckee River Bottom. 30'-50'. - Nov. 5th 1863. - The most common species. (a'') - Sheet 341. - Leaves only. - Lassen Peak Canons, W. of Winnemucca Lake. - Nov. 10th 1863. - 20' high, low + spready branched. Twig smooth + round, reddish. Older branches smooth + greenish grey. Trunk with thick, corky, slaty bark. Perhaps a distinct species. 209.- Populus (b). Sheet 342. - Leaves only. - Bank of the Truckee, in the Glendale Pass. - Nov. 28th. 117. - 20'-30' high.
