115 Mertensia Sibirica, Don. (Gray, Paris. Muh. Am. Jour. Sci. XXXIV, 240.) Totally confined to banks of mountain streams. Variable; 6' 5" high; leaves ovate to narrow lanceolate, attenuated or broad at base, from 1/2" to 3" wide; calyx lobes usually short (1") to 2" long, occasionally linear lanceolate or tubular. [illegible] M. glabrum virens?, variable in degree of pubescence above, leaves more broad ovate, abruptly attenuated into a long point. Stem glabrous, a) June 9, 1868. W.
