into O. bristlyl, DC., of which it is probably a variety. Bristles in
subtle stage present, though small; pubescence variable, as well
as shape & pectin of leaflets.

449. C. moranensis, Suth. (749. Fl. I. 624.) Flowers in dense globular heads,
the disk minute;
encasing the broad membranaceous involucre & involucels; bracteoles
1-3, equally the leaves; carpophore very slender, 2-clawed at base; stamens 3 in
the intervals, + 2-4 on each side of the commissure, opposite the edges of the
involucre corollas sessile; fruit 5-7" long, wing 2-3" broad.
