Very near C. alpina - but distinguished by the broader membranous only single
involucre & the smaller, more compact heads of white flowers - pappus much
less coarsy, comparatively thin. A single immature fruit examined, but carefully
lost. The dorsal ligule equally the wings.
a will marked very [illegible] C. Fosteri is most readily
distinguished by the [illegible] involucre & yellow flowers.
