Sand Is. - Wedge-Tailed Shearwater - Nests
were marked on the island for a beginning
in an incubation study. Ten nests were
marked & since the egg laying date was
unknown, all nests & eggs from 1 to 10
were given an X marking. Thereafter, there
will be daily checks for new eggs. All
birds incubating were marked with
red paint on the breast, head, & tail
& the band numbers read. Data as
follows :

incubating under a log on the east shore.
The egg was probably laid around 6-15-64
as this was the first day it was seen in
