Tues. June 16 (cont)
on the breast belly. all other plumes
were in non-breeding plumage.
Wandering Tattler — Both the birds,
one on sand + one on Johnston were in
non-breeding plumage.
Bulwer's Petrel — Banded one as
642-01130 tonight. This bird was paired
with 642-01128 in a hole along the north
bank of the causeway just west of the
signal building. The entrance was
surrounded by seagrass.
Thur. June 18
Sand Is. — Sooty Tern — collected two
immatures tonight with green color
cands #30 & #62. These are know-
age birds from plot #4. Soft-part colors
was taken, they were weighed, & then frozen.
Sat, June 20
Sand Is. — Red-Tailed Tropicbird — banded
the two chicks on the island today, #
535-13522 was under the Nissarachnidia
argentir in front of the pump house.
# 535-13523 was banded in the bunker
on the east shore of the original portion
of the island. Both were tagged with
orange nylon leg streamers & painted across
the breast with red paint.
C. Noddy Tern — young noddies, some
fledged + some nearly to this stage
was banded today. 100 was banded.
