Glendale, Nevada Camp at Honey Gates Nevada on the Truckee River, Camp 10. Jul. 16th 1867. NO 1 Cærex- In sandy soil- near the river- " 2 Vicia- Common in the meadows- These specimens were from near a shrub. " 3 Sandy soil- common- " 4 Sandy soil- Myosotis 5 Sandy soil 6 All through the meadows- 7 Very minute- Only secured one specimen after much search, pressed in an envelope, 8 Another- Very common throughout the meadows 9. In Solanaceæ, colour much resembling that of Datura stra- monium, Sandy Bank near the river, Flowers close during most of the day, Opening in the evening. Nicotiana rustica, aquatica x 10 Ranunculus, Camps 10 and 11. Common in the shrubs- 11 Common in the sage brush Stephomœria 12 In the sage brush- Bigelovia (?!) | [illegible] grandiflora or similar? 13 " " " " Chaenætis 14 Equisetum [illegible] 15 Aster- Along the margin of shrubs. Milky juice, Plant 4 to 5 feet in height. [illegible] 16 Abutilon- growing from amidst tufts of sage brush and other plants Color, a lilac purple. 17- Aster. In hay fields 18- Sandy soil- 19- Very common in Sacramento, Cal. Much less frequent along the Truckee 20 Vorthia, Very stinging. Common.
