144. Allium 'Saratov Low, (1-3') - root bulbs, to thick coahing with a distorted cellular reticulation. Leaf single, sheathy, linear (1" broad), exceeding the scape, flattened - stem wiry. Bracts 2, concave, connate, broad, acuminate. Inflorescence about 20-flowered, rays 6" long. Petals rarely oblong, both lanceolate, acute or acuminate, whitish with more or less pink, especially at the midvein. Stamens shorter than the petals, all adnate at base, exceeding the style - stigma undivided. Involucre capsule abruptly constricted. May 14, 1864.
