Jan 25. Fired at a big bark setting on
a cloot in ploughed Clover (raised) end
of meadow & cant find him after
getting over fence. Shot another
on Iron Bear ave & made steak.
Big band quail E. of asparagus,
in orchard. Could have gotten 3
or 4. Thousands of "cans" along
narrow gauge Tristle. Saw 1 bundle
of several hundred thick as a bag
of shot. A hunter on Traic had
the head of a St. Blue Strion in
very mature plumage; shot in C.C.
Co. Neck whitish; head white with
black crest. Blees says he shot a
Bittern (Am.) from a barr on Ala.
marsh.
Feb. 4. on 5th 5:15 p.m. a 6? 5/8
hawk flew low, over her yards.
Lots squawks this year in Cypress
by stable. Never heard them talk
to each other before this year. James,
as I've not shot any since last winter,
on 9th @ Uncle Wm's. Billy & hit.
