58 Sept.12.Saw a Great Blue Heron fiercely attack a Hawk and three Turkey Vultures that were flying about a piece of tuiles that it seemed to be guarding. The Heron showed surprising adgility in the attack which was always from below. It kept uttering its harsh cry almost continually. In most instances the Turkey Vultures showed themselves to be superior in flight. The Heron did not desist until its foes had been driven off. It them settled itself near the tuile patch. Per- haps there were some of the poisoned fish there. Saw a Red-bellied Hawk poise in the air for several seconds. This was repeated several times. Sept.14 Went over to beach to see the fish that had been killed by the refuse from the sugar factory
