At last it flew to a neighboring tree. Its flight was undulatory. Another new bird is a small sparrow-like bird about the size of a Song Sparrow. Its outer retrices were white or at least heavily marked with that color. A patch including throat and chin was black. Castorville Aug-24. Large numbers of sea-birds have been seen off the coast flying along in a string two or three or perhaps more miles in length, the birds being very thick in the column. These birds were a mile or two from the shore and a like occurrence has been seen before several times. One time I noticed them they were flying in a northerly direction, however they may fly southward part of the time. I think they are local birds fishing but they appear to be millions.
