28 Nov-7. Saw two California Condors at one time and three at another time, yesterday while taking stroll up one of the ridges. They might have been the same individuals but there were at least three. They were flying at a considerable height so I could not tell very much about them. They seemed however to cover great distances in making their circles through the air. I also noticed a characteristic habit they have of dipping downward in their flight. It reminds me somewhat of the dipping when in flight of the California Brown Pelican. Nov-12. Several times of late I have disturbed congregations of Red-shafted Flickers that had gathered in some land from which the brush had been burned. I do not know the exact cause of these
